Forestry and woodland management
At JRF Contracting, forestry means managing woodland with a clear long-term objective. This may involve felling diseased trees, selectively thinning woodland, reclaiming overgrown land, producing timber or creating and improving habitat.
Wildlife and habitat are carefully considered throughout the work, with the long-term health and vitality of the environment kept in view. We believe we are custodians of the land we work on, responsible for leaving it in good condition for future generations.
Machinery matched to the woodland
Our team combines practical forestry experience with specialist machinery. Excavators equipped with grapple saws and shears can work alongside tractors using 10.5-tonne timber winches and 15-tonne timber trailers, allowing trees and timber to be handled efficiently. Waste material can then be processed with a large PTO chipper to produce biomass-grade chip.
The machinery and approach are selected to suit the site and intended outcome, whether the priority is timber production, habitat creation, woodland access or land recovery.
